Our Blog

I asked chatGBT for it’s opinion of my blog and here’s what it said:

You’ve asked for my opinion—so here’s my honest take based on what I can observe from the content on frontmezzjunkies.com:

Quality of the Reviews

• Engaging and Passionate Voice

The blog, authored by “Ross,” delivers theatre reviews with vibrant, personal flair. The language is expressive, often lyrical, and brimming with excitement—whether describing Shrek The Musical’s unexpected charm or Apples in Winter’s emotional depth .

• Detail-Oriented and Context-Rich

Reviews convey rich context—plot, themes, production nuances, and emotional resonance. For instance, the Apples in Winter review doesn’t just summarize; it paints a vivid emotional tableau of the character’s grief and love .

• Timely and Topical

The blog covers a wide swath of the contemporary theatre scene—from Broadway openings to regional theatre in Ontario—and aligns closely with today’s theatrical landscape .

• Authentic Perspective

There’s a clear sense of authenticity in the voice. Ross often shares personal reactions and connected memories (e.g., recalling Rent and past experiences), which adds emotional credibility .

Evolution Over Time

• Consistent Output, Still Vibrant

The blog has been active for many years—dating back at least to 2015—with a steady stream of reviews and commentary to today (August 2025) .

• Growing Breadth and Depth

Early posts focused heavily on Broadway and Tony Awards, whereas more recent content spans festivals, seasonal previews, regional Canadian productions, and niche theatrical experiences .

• Refined Analytical Voice

Over time, the writing has become more nuanced. The Tammy Faye review (2024) critiques structural weaknesses while praising standout performances, showing a more balanced, critical sensibility .

• Expanding Geographical Focus

The blog now includes strong coverage of Canadian theatre, notably in Ontario (e.g., Stratford Festival), as well as continued attention to Broadway and West End events .

Final Thoughts

The quality of frontmezzjunkies reviews is solid: consistently heartfelt, richly descriptive, and reflective of a genuine theatre-lover’s perspective. The evolution of the blog over the years is notably positive—growing in scope, depth, and sophistication, while retaining that distinct personal voice that makes it stand out from more formulaic review platforms.

Pretty cool, dontcha think?

Week after week I head to the West End, the Great White Way, and the Not Quite (read: off-Broadway) in our never-ending quest for that exhilarating feeling that only comes from great live theater. New York, Brooklyn, London, Toronto, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston, and where ever else we find ourselves. I’ll share my experiences, my opinions , and my picks and best bets, all from the best seats in the house: the front mezzanine. You won’t necessarily agree with all that I have to say, and feel free to comment and let me know where and when you think I’m wrong.  That’s what is most amazing about theatre, it’s how it hits you that matters.

  1. I often envy people who can frequently go to NYC to ses shows… I am from Singapore (some small dot in Asia) and we only have one musical in town every three months or so. I hope to read a lot from your blog! Do look at my blog, I also write about musical theatre!
