10 Broadway Stars I’m Rooting for on Tony Nomination Morning

Screen Shot 2015-04-25 at 1.09.30 PMTony nominations will be doled out in just a few days, so I thought I’d make a list of 10 superb actors and actresses I’d love to see have a chance at Broadway’s highest honor. It’s hard to pick just 10 (I wish I could have included people like Bryce Pinkham from Heidi Chronicles or even Kristin Chenoweth from On the 20th Century), but alas …

You’ll notice I went with stars from some of my favorite shows right now: An American in Paris, Hand to God, Fun Home, and of course Side Show. Who are you rooting for?

1. Kelli O’Hara (THE KING AND I)
2. Steven Boyer (HAND TO GOD)
3. Beth Malone (FUN HOME)
4. Michael Cerveris (FUN HOME)
5. Jake Gyllenhaal (CONSTELLATIONS)
6. Robert Fairchild (AN AMERICAN IN PARIS)
7. Kieran Culkin (THIS IS OUR YOUTH)
8. Victoria Clark (GIGI)
9. Corey Cott (GIGI)
10. Erin Davie (SIDE SHOW)

  1. ross says:

My top ten actors that I’m rooting for:

I’ve left off the list Chita, Kristin, Helen, and Kelli, not because I don’t absolutely adore them and their performances this season, but come on, they don’t need my prayers. They have that nomination in the bag! So here’s ten more. In no particular order.

    1. Ruth Wilson (CONSTELLATIONS)
    2. Steven Boyer (HAND TO GOD)
    3. Julie White (AIRLINE HIGHWAY)
    4. Michael Cerveris (FUN HOME)
    5. Annaleigh Ashford (YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU)
    6. Alexander Sharp (CURIOUS INCIDENT….)
    7. Sarah Stiles (HAND TO GOD)
    8. Lindsey Duncan (A DELICATE BALANCE)
    9. Jake Gyllenhaal (CONSTELLATIONS)
    10. Erin Davie/Emily Padgett (SIDE SHOW)
    – ok, 11. The last one was a bit sneaky of me. But they do play conjoined twins…..
